macOS desktop wallet

Kyro for macOS

A private crypto wallet for your Mac. One universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel.

Install

One command

It downloads the latest release from GitHub, checks its SHA-256 against SHA256SUMS and stops if they differ.

Windows · PowerShell

irm https://kyrowallet.com/install.ps1 | iex

macOS and Linux · Terminal

curl -fsSL https://kyrowallet.com/install.sh | sh

Downloads the latest release from GitHub, checks its SHA-256 against SHA256SUMS, then installs it. The scripts are open source: install.ps1 · install.sh (website/src).

Or the file

Install by hand

  1. Run the one-line command in Terminal, or download Kyro-macos.dmg.
  2. If you used the file, verify its SHA-256 first.
  3. Open the .dmg and drag Kyro to Applications.
  4. Gatekeeper blocks the first launch: right-click Kyro in Applications and choose Open, or use System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway.

Kyro-macos.dmg: Universal: Apple Silicon and Intel.

Notes

Good to know on macOS

Gatekeeper

The app is not code-signed yet, so macOS blocks the first launch of a downloaded file. The one-line command avoids that.

Where it installs

The one-line command puts Kyro.app in /Applications, or ~/Applications. It needs no sudo.

Updates

The installed app updates itself with signed updates, downloaded over Tor.

Phrase window

The phrase window is excluded from most capture on macOS. Check that nobody is watching anyway.

Same on every system

The full wallet, everywhere

The macOS build is the same Kyro: 36 blockchains, swaps, Earn, hardware wallets and Tor from the first launch. The interface is in English and French.

  • No account and no analytics.
  • Your recovery phrase stays on your computer, encrypted.
  • Your phrase also restores your wallet on another system.

Questions

Common questions

Is there an iPhone or iPad app?
